THE KNIGHT

The Knight

Hidden from common view, on an ancient hill
A plaque rusty and old was artlessly portrayed
From the bottom of the plaque thick weeds grew
Unknown to mankind, it laid there untold for ages
It belonged to the man of valor, of ferocious will
Of a Knight of whom fate at his will could be delayed
His land he longed had berated and had him threw
Locked out from his land by the unforgiving mages
He did not weep, but went and took lands of his foe
He ruled for a short time, but was later filled with woe
War took lives of people he adored with many a song
He laid down his sword and declared monarchy wrong
Left these lands untamed to understand life through penance
His spirit lives on this ancient hill shunning all forms of vengeance
