UNCONSCIOUSLY

Unconsciously

Under normal observation
I laugh at your interjections
You seem devoid of any anger
Yet you shower it on me

Under normal obligations
I would never be wary of you
But amidst this corny drama
I fell into a solitary coma

Unlike numerous objections
That you’ve thrown all around
You decided to choose me
To display genuine dismay

Up-until now oratory
Was my only sole weapon
But things are different
When I stand alone

Uneasy nauseous Un-Operatory
You’ve made me feel so
I’ll get back to you on this
Mio Amigo mio amico

WALK WITH SHADOWS

Walk With Shadows

When darkness shone forth its seamless gleam
When the guards doth stand waiting for warmth
The leaves lay listless and flap the same
Two lords of the night shall prowl forth

One taller than the other doth they stand
Restless in day and awake at night
When they doth hide from everyone’s eyes
They venture deep into the darkness hidden from plain sight

This tale is not on what they received in the end
But more on why they venture in the night
What made them welcome the sight of
 The listless and darkest sight

One feared almost nothing
The other wished only for adventure
They both sought to learn the other’s powers
Whilst they dived into this venture

“Why my friend, doth thee wish this perilous path?”
“When thou can pick the one other?”
But no reply did he get from his friend the dwarf
But now ‘nuff is said about each brother

“Brothers they were”, did I say that?
Oh, yes they were, but not of blood
Despite that they were connected
By the perilous path they proudly tred

Years have passed now we venture through time
It waits for none and changes everyone
The dwarf was now dipping into women
Whilst the giant cared only for none

They had grown undone and apart
But care each for the other, still did they
The distance between them had grown
So that even meeting the other could not blow that away

In silence they sat waiting for a spark
To reignite the flame that was lost
It sounds like love and yes it is so
As these brethren had grown apart

They slowly dragged around with their feet
They ventured into lands that were so new
Something magnetic drew them the way
As none of them, where they went they knew

It was darkness and they knew now
What they had lost was back anew
They stood now again in silence
But now they were akin I knew

The spoils of their war lay before them
What they had conquered under their noses
Of everyone they knew, now the giant spoke-
“Now that we’re back, lets rejoin forces”

The dwarf did nothing but smile
As silent as the night but all the bright
They venture alone again
Into the night in all their might

So one last time before many yet to come
They set out wandering as they did before
Not a soul would ever know of this
Them my friend you can never abhor

The flame was finally ignited
The old were again united
This is just the beginning not the end
Thus adding one more tale to the story of friends

A BROTHER’S CALL

A Brother’s Call

To write or not to write
To smite or not to smite
There’s a delay in my actions
Someday I’ll return home

From across the silver mountains
Where blood stains the mouldy wall
Heaven called for me
I fell half way through

I deserve a friend in you
My brother you’ll surely be missed
Every moment I’ve ever spent here
I'll recall them with a great pride

There’s this music in my heart
My words try to break through
I’m leaving you for heaven
I’m leaving you the moon

My heart has been wounded
I’ve been alone for long
Where I’ve to leave from here
How I wish you were still here

I still haven’t learnt to walk
I can’t even seem to crawl
The twisted tree has strangled me
I can’t breathe straight any more

Your grip is relaxing
Your eyes are no longer coaxing
I’ll meet you in the shallow depths
It’s time for me to head to the gallows

TWO LETTERS

Two Letters

Make believe holidays
Filled with dejection
Servitude to the very brim
We act like we’re so happy

Lost in our own minds
Worried of matters related
To many weeks from today
Our future is always grave

We surrender to this daily mess
We call our jobs, agree to work
Day in and day out, we are ready
We will suffer through it even more

To succeed, we have to excel
But the price paid is not so small
We sell out own soul to get there
Why do we agree to something like that?

Stop with your complaining
Work can be fun, go early
Come back late, hang out
You live the way your attitude is

Take joy in your daily work
You’ll find true happiness
Satisfaction is just an arm’s length
It will surely come tagging along

Dear friend, don’t ponder so much
You chose to come here, you weren’t forced to
You will find both happiness and acceptance
Both only come when you love your work

The next time you write to me
Make sure you’ve talked to friends
Make sure you’ve worked harder that most
Make sure you’ve talked to your gracious host

Don’t come writing to me again
Filled with eternal sorrow
That you have no heart to borrow
It’s just you, you hate this work

Get over it quickly
Learn all that you don’t know
Work hare no to show
What it is you truly know

GRIZZLY MAN

Grizzly Man

I sat on a park bench, sweaty reeked of stench
Away from the frolicking crowd, who shout aloud
Steamed up over something absurd, I sat murred
Nothing in particular for that, I didn’t know what

A grizzly man came by the bench, of similar stench
Walked by me a few times and more, I saw gore
He stopped before me, now I could clearly see
Asked if he could join the bench, his fists clenched

Mad at him, I said bluntly, rather abruptly
Man, there are others, we’re not brothers
Please sir, I’m feeling blue, and I have no clue
I need company to get through, it’s true

He told me a tale at random, stuffed with wisdom
Beard fluttered as he led on with them, feelings stem
Told me the story of his monotonous life; his lovely wife
How sad he was, his life had no vice, yet it wasn’t nice

I patted him on the shoulder, said brother don’t bother
As he broke into a constant tear, I inched near, no fear
Said he could go back to his life, his wife, it was all rife
Life is something dear, you must stay by near

Gladly he smiled at me, a comrade I was to be
His teeth showed, a beautiful yellow and red
Stains of recently chewed pan, on his suburban tan
Shone his greasy nose, as he nodded at me and rose

He stopped to say something, which was my becoming
Said I was of a rare breed, I stuck faithfully to my creed
I showed great kindness, despite my own swollen grief
This was heaven to him and me, this gave us relief

Stranger, I am truly shaken, my bad mood broken
This disturbing figure of a man, you are god’s plan
Life is not as hard as it seems to be, friendship is glee
Get your own experience, if you don’t just believe in me

LONELY FRIEND

Lonely Friend

 He approached me for help
I could offer none
He plead for companionship
I was nowhere to be found

Lonely friend
Strives to achieve
Does everything on his own
Of dejection, he never does moan

His world collapsing
His thoughts relapsing
His eyes searching for hope
But he never finds none

In the nick of time
Coupled with all sorts of pain
He has a friendly demeanour
He calls no one on his endeavours

Sad, disturbed, frustrated
Happiness is always belated
Thrown around on a whim
He picks himself and dusts down

How could anyone bear so much?
Why does life deny him any pleasure?
What could be his destiny?
Yet Another profound mutiny?

What he seeks, he will find
All the roads will unwind
The divine interventions will cease
Only when he reaches the crease

The world is a great equalizer
A wise man once told me
If what he said were true
He can strip boundaries & go through

Hard work always pays up manyfold
He has to hold tight and remain bold
His time is approaching, tremors quaking
He will be placed on a pedestal and given the world

THE CHASE

The Chase

 I walk past some corners
I walk past some bars
You look so angry
You look for me there

You come to me running
You’re flushed with anger
You’ve come to get me
You’ve come so far

I stay past the fountain
You know that now
It’s past my midnight
I wait in the bar

You look so delicious
You look so smart
Why are you angry?
What’s up with that?

You’ve known me for so long
Our friendship a bit more strong
My glands have run dry
No more metabolisms

Your face is so scary
You’re no longer a delight
You search past the waiter
You search for me there

I’m hiding in no place
You cannot find
I know you’ll come there
And I’ll make for the door

You’ll try to catch me
In a similar lousy fair
The clouds start to meltdown
It’s a huge downpour

Why can’t you leave me?
Why can’t I stay?
Why can’t you play me?
Like the other day?

We walk past the banners
We walk past some bars
I make for the station
But you wait for me there

Death is descending
Along the running stairs
I stand there to confirm
I can see you there

THIAGA

Thiaga

 Thiaga, my deep vengeful sorrow,
Is Burrowed in the annals of my being
From the stars that fill the sky
You’re my friend till I die

My passion knows no known bounds
Your words are drops of gold
Your presence that of the divine
God only knows, why I deserve in you, a friend

The doors of my heart sealed shut
Afraid of what lies in this world
Every moment is a peril unknown
With you, friend, I need no restrain

I grow weary of this journey through the sun
My heart yearns for the streets unknown
No matter how far I go, to the worlds alone
You stay as a source of companionship I adore

Banners on the moon speak of blandness in tastes
People around me run past with a reserved haste
No time for me, even in me I can’t find no trust
But in you my friend, I thirst for both

Together, we defeated the angry troll
Together we ate, food meant for families whole
over the plains, we slew beasts on the grassy knoll
Gave back all the riches, they once stole

No more riddles
No more rhymes
Your friendship matters to me
Not just this time

BETRAYAL

BETRAYAL

 Corrupted by sleaze
All he can think of is my niece
My friend who’s no longer a friend
Has chosen his path, can’t pretend

Warned him all his life
Yet he jumps back on the knife
Knows the ending is painful
His actions still disdainful

I know he’s my friend
Shared life’s best moments together
Sadly this is all I can take
Our friendship must break

His fault or mine
I really don’t know
All that I do is… this is it!
Far too long have I been in the back seat

Another woman between friends
This happens to be a common trend
He fell for her luminous flux
All this really, just sucks

Why does love generate so much hatred?
Why does love only come between friends?
This thing’s over, I’ve got to quit
Go to the corner and pretend to sit

I’ve stood up so many times for you
Been punched in the chest
Just to get your back
It’s just common courtesy you lack

You’ve known me so long
How could you do this?
Tell me what symptoms did I miss?
What had gone so amiss?
